Spammerz brings together the jazz pedigree of Alan Brown on organ, Jason Orme on drums and saxophonist Ben McNicoll, and joins them with the free groove composition and literate pop of guitarist Dan Sperber.

Lush soundscapes interact with free-jazz influences, and evocative self-aware songs, into an organic performance that is rarely the same once. Firmly planted in the Waitakeres, they will drive you down Huia Rd, and take you on a journey to Te Henga on the double-tracked Western line.

Hot on the heels of their accidental debut EP, Tear Yourself Together, Spammerz return to The Toolroom, for an intimate encore performance after their warm welcome in the Titirangi Festival.

Space is very limited, so get in early!

Dan Sperber - guitar/vocals/composition;
Alan Brown - organ / backing vocals;
Ben McNicoll - saxophones / woodwind / backing vocals;
Jason Orme - drums.

Violin wizard - mediterranean song traditions

Italian violin wizard, Luca Ciarla creates a virtuosic soundscape in the atmospheric Te Uru Gallery. His sound is a natural synthesis between contemporary jazz and the Italian folk tradition, tempered by a beautiful gypsy touch.

Luca performs solo with loops, and is then joined by vocalist Carolina Moon an multi-instrumentalist Nigel Gavin, together presenting a program of song traditions from France, Spain and the Mediterranean.
