Auckland Arts Festival and Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery present renowned rhythmic pioneers From Scratch in a performance series HEART’HEART. Featuring early and new works fuelled with fresh directions and surprises with Nell Thomas and Daniel Beban (Orchestra of Spheres), NPME, Chris O’Connor, and Pitch Black.
Their most memorable performances have been described as “among the greatest in any art form to come out of this country.” Come witness these mesmerizing performances that are part sculpture, part music, part ritual.
“It’s hard to try and pigeon-hole From Scratch – they truly own their unique Pacific-styled sound. It’s mesmerising, hypnotic, tonally melodic, repetitive yet undeniably complex.” – The Pantograph Punch
Curated by Andrew Clifford with generous support from the Fine Arts Library, The University of Auckland.
Performances take place on 9, 10, 11, 23, 24 and 25 March at 8pm.
Tickets are available via the Auckland Arts Festival website here
