TITIRANGI FESTIVAL 2018
FRIDAY 23RD - SUNDAY 25TH MARCH
NAU MAI, HAERE MAI.
WELCOME TO THE TITIRANGI FESTIVAL 2018!
This year, for the first time, there will be a central festival space in front of the Titirangi War Memorial Hall. It will feature giant street games, arts activities and competitions. A marquee will stretch out over the outdoor stage and audience, and there will be a street food market to tempt the taste buds, plus stilt walkers and street performers will help bring the whole village to life.
As always we have a lineup of fabulous local music, this year created by local musician and radio DJ Dan Sperber.
Headlining the 2018 concert lineup on Sat 24th will be iconic NZ musician Don McGlashan. The free outdoor lineup features a wide selection of music, from the the fresh hip-hop electronica of Yoko-Zuna to the uplifting Afrobeat of ljebu Pleasure Club.
This year’s festival also looks beyond music to emphasise community and celebrate the many reasons Titirangi is such an interesting and beautiful place to live. Events such as Te Uru Gallery’s ‘From Scratch’ exhibition, ‘Flicks’ music-themed movie season , school workshops, as well as a panel discussion at SOUL Centre hosted by ‘Changing Minds’, discussing “Finding the balance… healthy approaches to working in the arts in Aotearoa”.
This is a vibrant festival event for a vibrant community, we look forward to seeing you on the weekend of March 23/24/ 25.
